We were excited to get out of the car after our four hour drive from Pittsburgh. Gettysburg was beautiful to say the least. We first went into the Visitors Center. It was well worth it to learn about more of what took place there. We watched the awesome video there and saw the cyclorama (an amazing 360 degree mural that depicted the battle). Brandon loved the museum, whereas I was just excited to get out and see it.

We chose to do the self-guided auto tour. We followed a map around the town that showed where different battles took place. It was crazy to see that it all took place in the middle of this small town and farms.

We were planning on staying the night in Gettysburg, but last minute we decided to drive into DC so we could see the Temple at night while we had a car. We are so glad we did.
Glad you made it to see the temple at night! I love that temple!
ReplyDeleteI wish we had gone to the temple there. We kept hearing references to the "Mormon Temple" on the traffic reports, which seemed so strange, but it does stand out. Loved Gettysburg.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me miss the East Coast so much! I love Gettysburg... In fact, NY all the way down through NC is pretty much AMAZING.
ReplyDeleteJealous. :)
*muah*
oh cool!! I want to go back East and see all that too now :)
