Brugge

Back in 2006, I visited Brugge, Belgium. I felt like I had been sucked into a storybook. Really, the cobblestone streets, cute little cottages, and boats on the canals made it seem like a fairy tale. I didn't realize places like that still existed. In addition to all the charm, I ate the BEST waffles and fries I have ever tasted.

The happy news is that there is a little piece of Brugge right here in Salt Lake City. B and I visited it for our date night. In fact, it is called Bruge's. A belgian man started this charming little waffle and fry shop. And as far as I can remember, it tastes pretty authentic. Mmmm. It's a good thing we don't live too close to it.

the Creme Fraiche was amazing.

  1. We loved Brugge when we visited in 2007. Definitely a place I'd love to go back. Though we didn't get to sample their waffles or fries. Instead - we had some of the best french onion soup and spaghetti and beer ever. Sounds like Brugge just knows good food! :)
I'll have to check this place out on our next trip to SLC.
