Whoever said jet lag coming back from Europe is better than going is wrong. WRONG.
Nevertheless, we had high hopes. It took us 20 hours to get home from Moscow. Because of the time change, we left at 12:00 pm and returned to SLC at 8:00. Right in time for bed. We hit the hay and woke up bright and early at 4:00 am. Off to work and we'll feeling great. Friday after work we decided to take a nap. We both fell asleep at 5 and I just woke up. That is why I am writing this at 2 in the morning. It feels like morning and now I can't sleep. Good thing its a Saturday.
So...the travel stories begin. Grab some popcorn and get comfy. This may take a while.
And speaking of jet lag...that is what we felt our very first day of the trip. We got lucky and made it on the non-stop flight from SLC to Paris. We decided to hit the ground running and stay awake until that night so we could get on the right schedule. I'm sure it was a good idea, but we were thinking otherwise as the day went on. We PACKED. IT. IN. Here is the proof. (Since we took way too many pics for a post, I'll post most of our pics on Facebook. Just in case you don't get enough here :)
A bed never looked so good. We loved our quaint hotel!
Our first stop was Notre Dame. We weren't sure what the big hype was all about...until we saw it that is. The architecture was pretty amazing. And to think they built it by hand.
Next stop: the Louvre. We admit, we did come here to see the Mona Lisa. You can't go to Paris and not see the Mona Lisa. We did see a few other exhibits as well.
After the Louvre, we took a nice, LONG stroll throughout the Latin Quarter and other parts of the city of Love. I'll have to make that its very own post.
Last stop of the day: Tour Eiffel. Being there was unbelievable. To see the real thing was amazing.
There you have it. Our first day. Another post coming soon.
love it. love it. LOVE IT! can we chat soon to laugh and reminisce about our wonderful trips? cuz i would love that:)
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm so excited to read about all your adventures :) I'm glad you two had a blast. I can't wait one day to travel with my hubster :)
ReplyDeleteYou say you can't go to Paris without seeing the Mona Lisa...well, we did exactly that. In fact, we didn't even go into the Louvre at all! But we did walk a LOT and saw all the other stuff. And hung out in a lot of parks just people-watching. Looks like a lovely trip - cannot wait to hear more about it!
