at least we try and make food a social event. like making russian pilmini with the tingey's.
brandon and scott having a little too much fun |
the beautiful pilmini before it was cooked |
or we use it as a way to celebrate a holiday. i found a block of le gruyere cheese when i opened the fridge the other day. if you have never eaten le gruyere, you are missing out! it is the best cheese in the world. and i feel like i can say that confidently since i've traveled a good part of the world...unless better cheese exists in antarctica or china. well sweet brandon knows how much i love this cheese and surprised me with some. this is such a treat because i never buy it. 1. because it's expensive and 2. i would eat the entire block in one setting.
however, you can't eat le gruyere without zopf. the BEST bread in the world. if you forget how much we like it, let me remind you about it here. so for president's day...we made some swiss zopf. and ate way too much le gruyere.
our homemade zopf president's day 2011 |
zopf we bought in switzerland september 2010 |
(and i promise no more food posts for a while although they are rather fun.)
I think your bread looks better than the one you bought! Food makes everything that much better. Glad you enjoyed your holiday.
