My life in a nutshell

Or should I say 4 books? (5 if you count our wedding book)

I'm back. I am happy to report that I can start blogging again (guilt-free even). There were so many times when I wanted to break my rule and just blog. As hard as its been, I've resisted and have completed the what seemed to be a never-ending project.

You see a long time ago, I loved scrapbooking. I spent lots of my free time mapping out the cutest pages and spent way too much time and money at the scrapbook store picking out themed paper and die-cuts. But the problem was, I never completely finished it. I did it when it was fun and then my life just got busy. Imagine that.

Well, since I hate unfinished projects, I decided to finish scrapbooking all the pictures that had collected in shoe boxes. I thought I could slap on the photos quick and be done in a few days. A few days have turned into a few weeks and this is where I think I've spent nearly all my free time.

My trip down memory lane has been a good one. I got to relive many great memories and if there is one thing I've learned from doing it, it's this: I am so blessed! I am such a lucky girl to have had so many life-changing experiences, not to mention the many places I've been able to travel to. I'm grateful that my mom and dad made the sacrifices and effort to pack 7 kids in a big gray van and travel to many parts of the country. I'm sure it was no vacation for them. And I'm grateful that my parents (especially my dad) taught me the joy that comes from being well-balanced in school, extra-curricular activities, work, family and fun. I really hope I can remember that when we have kids.

I'm so glad to have these memories recorded, but I'm definitely going to stick to blogging from here on out.
