The 4th of July is the best holiday (along with Easter, of course).
This year we celebrated in Salt Lake with just our little family.
We went to the Millcreek parade. Nothing fancy, but a nice, low-key parade for Blake.
Then we had flag waffles. I think we will make this a tradition!
We took a well-deserved family nap, played in the sprinklers in the back yard and had a car wash.
Then, we (meaning B) bbq'ed up the fattest hamburgers I've ever seen. We couldn't even finish them.
Other photos from the day of us decked out in our red, white and blue:
We took Blake to his first movie, The Lorax 3D at the Dollar Theater, except didn't let him watch the big screen. (We are trying to keep him screen free for as long as possible.) However, he looked mighty cute in the 3d glasses, don't you think? Then made it out just in time for the Sugarhouse Fireworks.
We were stuck in traffic on the way home for 1.5 hours. No joke. But that didn't stop us from doing a few sparklers to finish off the day. We tried to get some cool sparkler pictures, but failed. Anyone know how to get those? This is the best we got:
As I watched the fireworks with the people who mean the world to me, I couldn't help but think of how grateful I am to be an American. And how grateful I am to have the life I have. God Bless the USA.
love all the fun pictures! looks like you guys had a great day.
