california | the beach

We just got back from little getaway to California. Thanks cousin Becky for getting married and giving us an excuse to really go. I'm going to post things out of order because, well this is my blog and I can do things like that. Let's start with the beach.  Blake really loves to play in dirt and sand and so I was really excited to take him to the beach. But, let's be honest. He was terrified as soon as he heard one wave and would not go within 10 feet of the water again. Needless to say, we still had a fun time.

Our beach house was on Balboa Island, just a few houses from the bay. We wanted to go to the big beach, so we packed everything up and rode the beach cruisers over. That was one of my favorite parts of the trip. It also included a ferry ride which Blake loved.

Then the sand castle building began. 

I hung out with little miss E. Then Blake joined in on the fun. 

Then Evelyn crashed.

Meanwhile Brandon and Michael learned how to skimboard.

More smiles, sand, sister time and soccer.

^They were both asleep by the time we got back. I think we wore them out. But how adorable is that?
