We put together some very make-shift/ghetto costumes. We had a few pirate outfit pieces in our costume box and our Waldo shirts from last year made another debut.
We pulled up to a long line of pirates. The line moved pretty fast at the beginning, but then it seemed to drag on. We had already waited 45 minutes and so there was no way I was going to leave then. Blake was hot and tired, Evelyn was hungry and needed a nap, but we sang some songs and tried to stay busy. We made friends with the family in front of us and we both promised each other to see each other next year, but much earlier. We totally hit the after-school rush.
Just as those warm donuts melt in your mouth, the tears and boredom melted away once 3 dozen of warm donuts were given to us. Blake scarfed one down like there was no tomorrow. I gave Evelyn a tiny little piece. Shhh. Don't tell.
I don't think their pirate costumes looked ghetto at all. I'm completely impressed that you were able to throw them together. You are a true Mom.
