I was quite surprised to read in an Oregon visitors guide that there are still nearly 50 remaining covered bridges. I don't know what it is about covered bridges, but they are so charming and romantic. They remind me of back east.
I was super happy that Chitwood was totally on our way to Newport from Corvallis. So, yes, we stopped to celebrate my love of covered bridges. Sure love my family and all of my silly requests. I like to think I'm teaching my children to enjoy the little things in life. In this case though, it was big.
