a nautical baby shower & girls night

My friend Andrea is having her third boy! While she was in town, my friend Amanda and I had the idea to throw her a surprise shower. Even though she lives far away, she is always doing cute things for us like remember my baby shower? Yep, that was her doing. So it was a no-brainer that we had to do something to celebrate her third boy. I've always wanted to throw a nautical party. And since she is having a boy, it was the perfect excuse.

Thanks to Dean for not spilling the beans. Andrea had no clue what was going on.

The Menu: "Crab" Sandwiches, Sea Salt Chips, Anchor Apple Salad, Goldfish Crackers, Starfish Sugar Cookies and Lighthouse Lemonade

Amanda made the favors. They were perfect: salt water taffy and a poem about friends being like ships.
Check out So Festive for the full version and other details.

The sad thing about summer is it always so busy. Lots of our friends had other plans, so it turned out just being four of us. After we "did" the shower (ate and opened presents), we decided to be spontaneous and hit up the town since we were all childless for the night. The shower was fun, but shopping and catching a fountain show synchronized to "Here Comes the Sun" was the most memorable part of the night. I miss hanging out with these girls more often. We have been friends since elementary and I think if we have made it this far as friends, we will be friends forever!
