one week ago...

Miss Evelyn joined our family. And I'm honestly sad to say that this first week is behind us. There is something so special and heavenly about the first week, including the hospital stay. She definitely has her days and nights mixed up. So just as we are getting ready to call it a day, she is waking up and ready to party. But, I wouldn't trade it for anything. I now know how fast it goes and so we are enjoying every sleep-deprived minute.

Here are a few more moments from her first week:

Blake and Evelyn Meet:  A Birthday Party

Blake met Evelyn the morning after she was born. He was pretty excited about her for the first few minutes and then lost interest. Maybe it had to do with the fact that I made and brought cupcakes to the hospital so we could have a lil' birthday party for her (to make it fun for him and all the visitors that came). The cupcakes soon became more interesting, but it was tender to see him softly rub her legs and head and try to give her hugs and kisses.

 Going Home!

Look how tiny! It was just as nerve-wracking driving Evelyn home for the first time as it was Blake. But it was so cute seeing Blake trying to entertain her on the way home.
