the san juan islands, part 3

This post is actually about the San Juan Island, where we stayed. So much beauty everywhere! We kept commenting to each other how every place we looked could be a postcard photo. And we felt like we had the entire island to our ourselves. Ok, not really, but for being "peak" season, we rarely saw a crowd anywhere. It was perfect. We are already planning our next trip back there when our children are older.

We stopped for a picnic at Lime Kiln State Park. And we had high hopes of seeing some whales since we heard that this was the best place to spot them from land. We didn't see any whales, but enjoyed the calming effect of the sea breeze and a picturesque lighthouse.
